СВЯТО-ТРОИЦКИЙ МАРКОВ МОНАСТЫРЬ ВИТЕБСКОЙ ЕПАРХИИ

The organization is the Svyato-Troitsky Markov Monastery of the Vitebsk Eparchy. This is one of the two functioning Orthodox monasteries (and the only male monastery) in the city of Vitebsk. The monastery was closed by the Bolsheviks in 1920, but it was reopened for worship during the German occupation from 1941 to 1945. The Vitebsk Eparchy covers a territory of 11 administrative districts in the Vitebsk region. Currently, there are two functioning male monasteries in the eparchy: the Sviato-Bogoroditsev Kuteinskiy in Orsha and the Svyato-Troitsky Markov in Vitebsk.
