The business is the Uполномоченный по делам религий и национальностей, or the Commissioner for Religious and National Affairs in English, in Belarus. It is an administrative body responsible for dealing with religious and nationality issues. The Commissioner is appointed and dismissed by the President of Belarus upon the Government's proposal. The Council of the Commissioner is created by the Commissioner's initiative, with the agreement of religious organizations' leadership. The Commissioner and his staff have the right to carry out information and publishing activities, and to establish their own media outlets.
