The business 'Вуэльта' is a well-known three-week long road bicycle race in Spain, one of the three most prestigious in the world alongside the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia. The race, also known as the 'Vuelta a España', has been held annually since 1935, with the exception of a few years during and after World War II. It was originally held in the spring but switched to the autumn schedule in 1995. The race is known for its challenging terrain and has seen numerous riders withdrawing throughout its history. In 2009, over thirty riders dropped out of the competition. Two Belarusian cyclists were set to participate in the event.
