This organization is the representative of Mordovia in the Republic of Belarus. It was appointed as the trade representative of Mordovia in Belarus in December 2005 to promote economic, scientific, and cultural ties between the two regions. The representative, Alexander Smirnov, was confirmed as a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from Mordovia in July 2010. The organization has been involved in organizing business visits between the two countries, including one in October 2008 in Saransk, Mordovia, and another in December 2009. The Belarusian Trade and Industrial Chamber, one of the leading business communities in Belarus, has 22 public representatives working in various countries in addition to its official representations.
