The organization is a national center for artistic creativity of children and youth, named "Obraztsovyj Khoreograficheskij Ansambl Tantsa" (Model Choreographic Ensemble of Dance). Founded in 1991 and led since then by Tamara Nikolaevna Bystrova, an outstanding educator. The ensemble is known to engage children in "the world of dance" through the "mir of sказки" (world of fairy tales) of the children's choreographic school. The youngest students are aged 5-6.
