The web project "КВАНТ" (<http://kvant.info>) is a popular science journal in physics and mathematics for schoolchildren and students. It contains the latest issues, information about competitions, math and physics problem solvers, rubrics, applications, archives, and a library. The idea for the journal was first proposed by Academician P.L. Kapitsa in 1964, and the first issue was published in the early 1970s. Academician I.K. Kikoin served as the chief editor, and Academician A.N. Kolmogorov was the first deputy chief editor. The journal was published monthly with a circulation of approximately 250-350,000 copies.
