The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus has announced the successful test-firing of the Polonez-2M tactical missile system.

According to the statement, the test-firing was conducted on 21 September 2022 at the Kapustin Yar test site in the Ukraine. The Polonez-2M system was launched from a mobile launcher and hit the designated target with high precision.

The Polonez-2M tactical missile system is a long-range, all-weather, and all-terrain system that can be deployed from mobile launchers. It has a range of up to 300 kilometers and is capable of carrying a variety of warheads, including unitary and cluster munitions. The system is designed for use against ground targets and can be used for both tactical and operational missions.

The announcement comes amidst ongoing tensions in Eastern Europe and as the Belarusian military continues to modernize its arsenal. The Polonez-2M system is believed to be a significant improvement over the earlier Polonez system, which was also successfully tested by Belarus in 2018.

The Ministry of Defence did not provide any further details about the test-firing or the Polonez-2M system, but stated that the results of the test-firing would be analyzed and used to further improve the system's capabilities.
