The business BTA Bank ZAO is a subsidiary of one of the largest banks in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), BTA Bank, based in Kazakhstan. The Belarusian BTA, previously known as ZAO 'Astaneximbank', has been successfully operating in the market for over 8 years and has regional offices in Minsk, Brest, Mogilev and Vitebsk. Established in Belarus in 2002, BTA Bank ZAO was acquired by its parent company, AO 'BTA Bank' of Kazakhstan, in 2005, becoming its subsidiary. The deal was part of a consolidation plan and marked one of the key steps towards the parent company's 2015 strategy.
