Olga (also known as Helen), daughter of Trypillia ruler Igor Rurikovich, became the regent of Kievan Rus' after her husband, Prince Igor, was killed around 945. She ruled until approximately 960. Olga was the first Christian ruler of Kievan Rus'. The exact date of her birth is uncertain, but she is believed to have been born around 925. She was married to Igor around 945, and after his death, she ruled as regent for her son, Sviatoslav. Olga is known for her role in the Christianization of Kievan Rus'. She invited the Byzantine emissary, Methodius, to Kiev in 957, and he baptized her and her son. She also sent her envoys to Constantinople to learn about Christianity
