This enterprise, Bryanskij Fosforitnyj Zavod (БРЯНСКИЙ ФОСФОРИТНЫЙ ЗАВОД), was formerly an operating fosforitic plant in Belarus, but it no longer exists. The city of Bryansk hosts four universities and 14 filial branches of other universities, offering professional higher education. The region is known for its industries including light manufacturing (textiles, footwear, sewn goods), woodworking, and production of construction materials. The city of Krichev, located nearby, was once home to a fosforitic, melanite, and brick factory, as well as a flax mill, which gave rise to the establishment of "Sozhstroy", a company that managed the local river.
