The organization, National Investment Agency RUP, is a Belarusian state-owned enterprise established in June 2006. It was created to facilitate international investment in Belarus and is under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy. The agency was initially headed by Oleg ZINOV'EV, the head of the International Investment Cooperation Department within the Ministry of Economy. The agency was liquidated in 2009, and efforts are currently underway by the government to establish a new entity in its place.
