The organization is the Svyato-Voskresenskij Pravoslavnyj Prikhod, or Holy Resurrection Orthodox Parish, registered in Minsk, Belarus, in May 1994. The parish was founded to serve the religious needs of the community in the Green Quarter microdistrict and was granted permission to begin construction of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in August 1995. The church is a part of the Brest Eparchy. The organization's history can be traced back to the 16th century when a church dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ existed in Minsk.
