The Orthodox Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Novy Sverженe, also known as the Sviato-Uspensky Church, was originally part of the Uniate Church before converting to Orthodoxy in 1839 under the leadership of its rector, Father Adam Neadkevich. The living conditions of the parishioners improved somewhat in the 1840s.
